Job Description
TRANSPORTATION MANAGER STARTING PAY $105,000 PER YEAR Lipari Foods has an opening for a Manager of Transportation Functions STARTING PAY IS $105,000 PER YEAR Must have a combination of training and/or experience totaling at least 1 year. Must have CDL Class A Driver’s License. Minimum of 2 years of transportation management experience. Responsibilites may consist of but is not limited to: Manage and provide leadership to the day-to-day operations, as they relate to the Lipari Foods private fleet Oversee the training of newly hired drivers (route and night shuttle) Coordinate ongoing skills and safety training as it relates to the fleet Ensure fleet compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation, Federal, State and Local Regulations Fully investigate and follow up on accidents and injuries Direct, hire, terminate, counsel and reward staff as needed Travel to satellite drop-points or 'depots', throughout the service area to perform depot and lead driver evaluations as required Continue to improve the transportation processes to reduce costs and improve service Work with transportation staff to identify cost-savings, and implement equipment and maintenance solutions Prioritize/re-prioritize daily tasks and resources Benefits Include: We offer competitive medical, dental and vision plans Bonus Pay 401K with company match Paid vacations Company Car Cell phone allowance Lipari Foods is a regional full-line deli, bakery, packaging, and grocery distributor, headquartered in Warren, MI. Job Requirements
· A valid CDL Class A License · Minimum of 1 year and 50,000 miles driving experience · Minimum of 2 years transportation management experience . Strong knowledge of DOT, state, and local compliance guidelines · Excellent knowledge of safety best practices in relation to a large, multi-state transportation network · Strong leadership competencies · Above average verbal and written communication skills · Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to manage details · MS Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) · Ability to travel regionally as needed · Ability to support company growth by developing a cost efficient transportation network, strong leadership & multi-tasking capabilities
